Hi, I'm Morgan Fouse

Morgan Fouse, Co-Chair of the Walk for Your Liver – Orange County

Morgan was born with biliary atresia. She underwent the Kasai procedure at 2 months old and it held out for 8 years. In 2020, her liver gave her everything it had, but it was time for her to truly get the most out of life!

After “talks” of being taken off of the active transplant list, the universe had other plans during the chaos of COVID, and her transplant was imminent—we ‘knew’ that it would need to happen in the next 3-6 months. Long story short, in July of 2020 we found ourselves at CHOC with jaundice—but more of a pale yellow vs. olive green, after 10 days, and plans of heading home, the varices in her esophagus burst, sending us up to the ICU at UCLA. We spent another two weeks up there learning EVERYTHING about livers in general and that Morgan was now in the top 3 for needing a transplant. Jon and I both went through the process to become a living donor for her. We had two ‘false’ calls up, but the night before her younger sister Peyton’s 6th birthday Morgan was prepped for her liver.

The surgery was a great success, and her team of doctors are beyond top notch. At the age of 10, Morgan continues to impress us with who she is and her genuine kindness!
